3 Free Ways to Promote a Website

  1. Fill out your portfolio!

Very often, people are looking for a solution to their specific problem. For example, on our case, it’s «website promotion», while for our clients, it’s «3-room apartment design project», «Japanese-style apartment design», or «order a modular barn construction».

It’s clear that any web studio or interior designer can handle such a task, regardless of their specialization. However, people trust specialists who have already solved their exact problem. For them, their work looks unique and special.

Knowig this, you can attract more visitors to your website and convince them to buy. To do this, arrange your portfolio.

  1. Fill out your portfolio!
  2. Crowdsourcing
  3. Blog

We have developed a special type of page for this purpose, where we fill in the project name, work period, region, results, graphs, and so on. Of course, the more detailed and comprehensive you fill in all the details, the stronger the desire of your client will be to repeat the project. I am currently testing this direction and even recorded a video review of the work done and placed it on the case page.

Note how this won’t work: you shouldn’t write «Ivanov IP» in the title. You need to provide the maximum amount of information. If there are many projects, you can do this using a template.

I’ll provide an example. You can simply copy the structure for your own business.

Case title: Website promotion for casino

Title: Case: {case title} | bet-seo.com

The beginning and end can be generated programmatically in the title, but the project direction needs to be written manually

Description: {case title} — a case study by bet-seo: works done, position dynamics, and traffic.

H1: {case title}

You’ll be surprised how many people are looking for specific things, not just the name of your service. This means you can attract additional visitors to your site, and therefore increase sales!

  1. Crowdsourcing

Crowdsourcing is the placement of interesting comments with a recommendation for a specific company on platforms where its target audience resides. For example, we write on a parenting forum and leave a link: «I tried N shampoo for my child — I really liked it!»

We use this for ourselves and our projects:

* to get clients;

* to get traffic;

* to increase the visibility of the site in search engines;

* to improve brand recognition;

* to improve reputation.

You don’t need to post links on a large scale if you have a small hair salon, for example, where customers come from neighboring areas. If you’re selling large industrial equipment, such forums don’t exist.

We often use these links to promote our clients’ websites. They look most natural. If the text and link are written in a human-like way, people click on them well.

This worked best for promoting a sex shop. People simply rushed to the client’s website.

What you need to do:

* Register on forums and answer a few questions from others.

* On some platforms, there are limits for new accounts to publish links. If you or your employee have a lot of time, you can do this manually. However, there are now many such offers from companies or freelancers.

Notice how to choose forums.

* They should not be spammy, and there should not be too much advertising.

* The platform should be moderated, and the page should not have too many links.

* Look at the page, and you’ll see what I mean if you see a forum with only casino ads.

* The page should have normal conversations, not just from marketers.

* Consider the regional aspect of the forum if your business only operates in one city.

* A link from a Ukrainian site to a local store will raise suspicions with a search engine.

I recommend budgeting 300-500 rubles per link. We monitor offers from different sources. There are options to place a link for 75 rubles, but they don’t meet our recommended quality standards.

  1. Write articles on frequent client questions in your blog.

We often use this promotion method. Firstly, the more useful pages on your site, the better it looks to a search engine.

Secondly, these pages can be used to strengthen promoted product and service pages. This is called «linking». When an article from the blog is linked to what you sell.

For example, if you have an online store selling air conditioning equipment, you can write an article recommending a specific model and directly sending the reader to the product page from the text.

Try to use only one or two links per article. Don’t turn your blog into a Wikipedia-like platform. They can get away with it because it’s a large and useful resource. For commercial sites, this approach is not applicable.

Use keywords in the anchor text. Anchor text is the word that is enclosed in a link.

Where to get topics for articles?

To start, think about or search through your email for questions your clients often ask. I compiled a list of 21 questions, which was the first batch of articles for my blog.

Another оption is to look at what people are asking on forums when they’re searching for your services or products.

As a SEO specialist, I personally like the option of taking words from the semantic core. We use a special paid program for this. It’s very hard to set up, so I won’t recommend it to you. You can also search for informational requests on the Yandex Wordstat service. There, you can see what people are actually searching for.

How often to publish them?

You should publish articles according to lunar cycles, as search engines closely monitor this algorithm. Write 10 articles on the growing moon and 9 on the waning moon.

If you haven’t closed my article yet, I thank you for your sense of humor. There is no clear instruction on how often to publish. The site just needs to be alive. New information should appear periodically.

So, I’ve detailed three ways we use to promote both our own and client websites. Publish information about your company’s completed work, respond to forums, and maintain a blog.
